Achilles Melbourne

Description

Supported by Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria, Achilles Melbourne is your local all-abilities social running club. Whether you have a disability or you wish to run/walk alongside people with a disability, we run/walk together to achieve individual fitness goals. This includes support to participate in major running events in Victoria.

Guide Runners

Achilles offers trained and experienced Guide Runners to help navigate members during training runs/walks and at fun run events.

Running Course

We run around the popular 3.8km Tan running track which encircles the Botanical Gardens.  Those who wish to run further have the option of running alongside the Yarra River via Federation Square on the main Yarra trail.

Strength sessions are open to financial Achilles members and run every Wednesday night. Strength sessions follow a formal program. Sessions cycle between being in an online format, and face-to-face at an indoor venue in winter (varies according to location availability) and at Janet Lady Clarke Rotunda in summer. Participants are required to undergo goal setting with our volunteer coaches prior to commencing.
