Volunteers are the life blood of this organisation and without their help Blind Sports Victoria would not exist.
Blind Sports Victoria are always on the lookout for new volunteers – so why not volunteer today? You can view and download a volunteer application form at this link: BSV Application Form.
The skills, experience and time committed by our volunteers help to improve the lives of people who are blind or vision impaired across Victoria.
There are different ways you can give your time to support Blind Sports Victoria. These include:
- Partnering with blind and vision impaired people in our Walking with Willpower program;
- Participate with and assisting blind and vision impaired people to participate in BSV programs such as Blind Soccer and Blind Tennis;
- Assist with the coordination of sporting and recreation programs; and
- Many more opportunities
If you have a particular skill that you think Blind Sports Victoria could benefit from, or you have an idea about how you could help us as a volunteer, then please get in touch!
Volunteers help to change the lives of people who are blind or vision impaired and will also develop valuable skills and friendships along the way. Time is precious. Use yours to do something meaningful and important!
How we support you:
Blind Sports Victoria is grateful for any help you can give to us as a volunteer, but there’s also a lot we can offer you. Whether you’re coaching at a BSV program, working in our office or embedding a program in a new club, volunteering for Blind Sports Victoria can be fun and extremely rewarding.
We can give you the opportunity to gain new experiences and learn new skills. These could help you develop your CV, increase your employability or simply give you the chance to do something new and interesting.
All Blind Sports Victoria volunteers are given an induction to the organisation and the area of the organisation you will be volunteering in before you start. You will be trained in working with, guiding and communicating with people who are blind and vision impaired.
At Blind Sports Victoria you will always have a member of staff who is directly responsible for you. This person will offer you on-going support so both you and Blind Sports Victoria can make the most of your time with us as a volunteer. This support may take the form of telephone calls and/or one-on-one meetings.
