This is the second time the BSRV Blind Tennis program has been the recipient of the Most Outstanding Inclusion Initiative - having received the award in 2019 and now in 2021.
Our Blind Tennis Program has been running since 2010 and offers people of all ages who are blind or vision impaired, safe and inclusive opportunities to participate in tennis.
The program has developed from the adult social program to include junior blind tennis clinics and teens’ programs. The growth of the social program also culminated in the inaugural Victorian Blind Tennis Championships being held in May 2021. The event was livestreamed with commentary provided by a vision impaired player. Promotion of the program is often seen on many free to air TV channels.
