Celebrating Australia's first vision impaired tennis coach trainees.

Four BSRV Ambassadors join the coaching ranks.

What better role for BSRV Volunteer Ambassadors, Rob Fletcher, Phoebe Jane, Adam Fayad and Jason Whiter, who LOVE tennis and have great insight into the requirements for people with vision loss on court.

BSRV congratulates them for successfully taking part in the Tennis Australia Foundation Coaching Course, which qualifies them to become Assistant Coaches.

Watch this great video produced by Tennis Victoria, where Jon Watson, Coach Leader at Tennis Victoria, talks about the Foundation Course and introduces you to some of the BSRV Ambassadors who participated.

You can find more information about Foundation Coaching on the Tennis Australia website.

'The Project' joined BSRV at Kooyong on the 15th January 2024 to highlight the great achievements of BSRV Ambassadors Rob and Adam.

Thanks to 'The Project' (Channel 10) for sharing the inspiring journeys of BSRV members Rob Fletcher and Adam Fayad, both legally blind, who have followed their sporting passion to become blind tennis champions and now blind tennis coaches.

Both Rob and Adam, having completed the Tennis Australia Coaching Foundation Course, are two of the first legally blind tennis coaches in the world and have been teaching others to play this inclusive sport.

It was such a pleasure to have Georgie join us on Centre Court at Kooyong to have a hit and to learn about playing and coaching tennis with vision loss. Also super exciting was having former world number seven, Danielle Collins, pair up with Georgie on court for a few rallies against Rob and Adam. To make the playing field a little more even, Danielle wore a blindfold and Georgie had on vision simulation glasses.
