Seeking a walking buddy to assist a young lady with vision loss in Point Cook.

Join us so others can join in!

Join the BSRV volunteer team to walk and talk with a lady who is legally blind in Point Cook.

Accompany a young woman with vision loss on weekly walks in her local area. You need to be over 18 years to apply, great at motivating people, fun to chat with, and comfortable being around a smoker. Training provided.

Recruitment involves an interview, police and referee checks and completion of short training on how to best assist a person who has vision loss.

You can make a positive difference to the quality of life of somebody in your local community.

As a walking buddy you will be part of the 'Walking with Willpower' program, which aims to increase fitness, well-being and community involvement for adults who are blind or vision impaired. As a friendly, volunteer walking buddy you need to be more than 18 years of age, and be up-to-date with your Covid-19 vaccinations.  

As a member of our friendly team of volunteers you will gain great benefit from assisting people who are blind or vision impaired, while enjoying many valued experiences.
